Nepal 21-25th April 2015 Before the Earth Quake

Nepal before the quake was an interesting and colourful place. We enjoyed interacting with all we met. It always strikes me how generally happy the people of the poorest parts of the world are.

Then the Quake struck and my life was changed forever. The complaint I made about a non-functional shower in my room seem petty in the light of what was around me.

I cannot begin to explain the sensation... it is like jelly, even you your bones feel like they have turned to jelly. The first quake was measured at 7.9. It seemed to go on forever as I watch the world smash around me, building swayed, people screamed, babies cried, cars and bikes had accidents. The sound of human tragedy is something that rings in my ears still. People were running in every direction as I peered out from under the table I was sharing with a fellow photographer Raht Latif. The quake lasted 45seconds but it felt like for 10 minutes.
